Abstract

The article focuses on the issue of using a computer polygraph in certain types of forensic psychological expert research and obtaining with its help indicative information necessary for the formation of an evidentiary base in the areas of investigation of facts of treason, collaboration activities, war crimes and other criminal proceedings. Based on the basic requirements of international treaties, scientific positions and practical experience, the concept and features of the use of a computer polygraph in the activities of forensic expertise are considered. The main principles of conducting a forensic psychological investigation using a special technical means – a computer polygraph are determined, such as the principle of voluntariness, the principle of legality, the principle of impartiality, the principle of complexity, the principle of comprehensive provision of human rights and freedoms, the principle of clarity, which, in the author’s opinion, will contribute to a high-quality research process and obtaining objective conclusions.The author presents one of the options for using the Methodology for Detecting Hidden Information by forensic experts when conducting a forensic psychological examination using a polygraph in the form of tasks in specific thematic areas.It is noted that to meet the needs of judicial, investigative, and advocacy activities, especially with the beginning of a full-scale invasion, a significant part of the research using a computer polygraph is conducted in the areas of investigating facts of treason, collaboration, and war crimes, and their results help to quickly adjust the true vector of investigations and save time.The author expresses the opinion that only in conjunction with the studied materials of pre-trial (trial) proceedings can the results of a forensic psychological examination using a special technical device – a polygraph be used.
